Ah, what a relief! Dec. 21st was not be the end of the world. Thank goodness the authorities at the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) assured us nothing would occur. Secondly, we can look to the empirical data…because we are still here and it’s just another winter solstice.

Last November, did you eat your Turkey Dinner and then rush out to “shop ‘till you drop”? Were you an early bird on Black Friday or the day after Christmas? Or do you have a future plans for Easter discounts? I don’t know about you but I was in bed long before Midnight and I was sleeping through all the “midnight”, “1AM”, “2AM”,”3AM” etc. etc. holiday specials. And I will continue to do so.

Skydiving from 24 miles is like upgrading your SAN
WOW, did you see Felix Baumgartner skydive from 128,000 (24 miles!) feet up? Free-falling faster than the speed of sound on the way down. All on the anniversary of breaking the sound barrier by US Air Force test pilot Chuck Yeager in a plane, 65 years ago on in 1947.

I bought my first car at 14; $300 for a 1965 Buick Skylark. It had been wrecked but was still drivable. My budget was busted with that very high purchase price, so I was left with repairing it myself. My dad was a mechanic for the Union Pacific Railroad, and he was a great resource on explaining how to get things to work, but he was pretty hands-off when it came to the actual labor aspect of the operation. Well anyway, this was the start of a long list of cars, motorcycles, and pickups that I bought, fixed up, and sold at a profit.

Years ago, right out of high school, I worked at a potato processing plant. I loaded boxcars with frozen vegetables. Peas, carrots, broccoli, and other items, packed in boxes weighing about 25 pounds. But, by far, the most produced product was French fries. Literally tons of French fries, in 36 pound boxes. The product was packaged in one part of the plant and then stacked about 6 feet high onto wooden pallets. The boxes were placed in an interleaved pattern to “tie” the boxes together, making the stack more stable.

Did you ever start what should have been a simple project, and find that it wasn’t all that simple? Or rather, the project itself is not that complicated, but all of the items needed to process BEFORE the project can begin are what take the most amount of time. PLUS, of course, those little unforeseen problems that invariably crop up – Murphy’s Law is always in play during any project.

HP 3PAR is an advanced storage solution that uses its unique multi-tenant ability to distribute load intelligently and dynamically to best utilize the resources available.

What’s the most efficient way to house people? An apartment building provides comfortable living space. Multi-tenant properties provide options for different tenant needs, but the basics are there for everyone, with some resources shared, like parking for example. And, everyone uses the same plumbing and electrical networks, and usually has shared common areas too.
