UAG in a Multi-Platform World

Storage Requirements for SharePoint 2010 Upgrade

Recently I was upgrading a customer’s SharePoint 2007 farm to SharePoint 2010 and ran into a problem doing a database attach upgrade method. I read through Microsoft’s storage requirements which stated “you should ensure that there is room for the databases to grow up to 50 percent larger than their current sizes during upgrade.” The size of the database I was upgrading was ~40GB in size, I made sure there was enough room to accommodate 20GB growth. Microsoft also stated to make sure there is enough room for log file growth as well.

Microsoft Office 365 Announced

Microsoft has upgraded their cloud computing product (BPOS) and is now calling it Office 365. No longer is Microsoft Office only a boxed solution, it is now available in the cloud, accessible anywhere. All you need is a browser. Since the Microsoft Office product is already a key driver for many clients, Office 365 is now the perfect lead in for customer conversations.
