Take Advantage of Extensibility Within the LANDesk Management Suite

A common trend I have noticed about so many software packages over the years is their tendency to get you only 98% of the way to the finish line!  LANDesk Management Suite, while always being improved by the manufacturer, has proven to be very extensible for users who are brave enough to pop the hood and tinker with the inner workings on their own.

LANDesk Management Suite in Education

I recently returned from a LANDesk engagement that I thought was challenging enough that I would note it here.

Not only was my customer implementing LANDesk Management suite for the first time in their environment, they were also transitioning from a Novell Based network to Active Directory. They had 28 remote sites that were not linked to each other and they had naming conventions that were almost identical at each site for the Laptop and Desktop computers.

Many people do not know that much of the technology that is incorporated in today’s version of LANDesk Management suite comes from 20 + years as the technology leader.

1985 - LAN Systems was founded and based on the company’s visionary Remote Control and Inventory software for desktop PC’s and Servers.
